Norfund, the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries, is a state-owned development finance institution established in 1997 to support sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction. Norfund invests in businesses across renewable energy, financial inclusion, scalable enterprises, and green infrastructure, with a strong focus on impact and additionality—investing where capital is scarce and risk is high. Through equity, loans, and fund investments, Norfund helps create jobs, improve lives, and accelerate the transition to net zero in developing countries. It also manages dedicated mandates for climate action and Ukraine’s reconstruction, operating through regional offices in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
