NUPRC
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), established in 2021 under the Petroleum Industry Act, is the statutory body responsible for regulating Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector. Headquartered in Abuja and led by CEO Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, NUPRC oversees licensing, exploration, and production activities, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and environmental standards. The Commission also manages acreage allocation, monitors revenue collection, and promotes transparency across the sector. By providing a structured regulatory framework, NUPRC plays a pivotal role in fostering sustainable resource development, attracting investment, and supporting Nigeria’s broader energy and economic growth objectives.
